My dad recently told me about the “Sound-track to your life.” Basically, what you are supposed to do is go to your music library and hit shuffle, then the first 18 songs that play are supposed to correspond to 18 different “stages” of your life if they made a movie about your life and played that music during that scene. He posted an update to his blog about it earlier this week and has been telling me to try it out since then. Personally, I think he might of wanted to think twice about posting an update that shows people that he has Sarah McLachlan , Shania Twain, and Mary J Blige on his playlists, but that’s just me. While it is of course coincidental at best, it is neat how some of the songs match up pretty well with the stage of life that they are supposed to. I decided to give it a try:

The soundtrack to sean curran’s life, as decided by the shuffle feature on my Ipod Nano.

I found it interesting that it starts and ends with The Streets, which is good for the circular effect. The titles of The Streets songs also are seemingly appropriate. Blue Orchid was a good fit for kicking off the movie. I think any movie fight scene with ‘Wind it up’ in the background would be a hit with just about any audience. Do you Want to Ride by Jay Z as a driving song somewhat fits, but more in title then actual content. Sara especially appreciated that The Ketchup Song would be the background for a wedding. I think the Ipod mixed up Lifetime Success and Tragedy as What Dreams Are Made Of would have been better for Success while All The Things I’ve Done could go either way.

I was a bit worried because I share the computer with Sara and she has some terrible music like “Dreams do come true” by Dessere on our shared itunes, but none of it managed to sneak on except for the song from the duets soundtrack, and I’ll even admit that I like that.
